QUEENS "A" 36 v. 16 WORTLEY DRAGONS 1st Oct. 2011 K.O. 2.30pm 1.Bosworth 2.Womack 3.Morton 4.Purnell 5.Seed 6.Procter 7.Ibbetson 8.Manson Scot 9.Bottomley 10.Brown 11.Sutherland 12.Charanjit 13.Precious.S Subs: 14.Pickthall 15.Hartley 16.Glover 17.Barnett Tries: Sutherland - Manson.Scot - Bosworth Goals: Procter (2) Our playing resources were once again stretched to the limit as Kev Precious, Danny Legg, Sam Manson, Stephenson, Mercer, Thompson, Broadbent, Evers, Collins and Harris were all unavailable, plus long term absentees Tom Cuddy and Craig Hebbard (both hopefully back in the New Year.) Then to add to our long injury list Steve Precious, just back after being out for the last 24 months, suffered a really nasty break to his ankle after just 10 mins and was stretchered off to the ambulance. Despite all these setbacks the lads really battled hard and gave a good account of themselves. Losing 6 v 20 at half time, the second half could have been a disaster but the lads stuck together and kept a much bigger Queens outfit at bay for long periods. The final score was probably a true reflection of a very difficult game for us under the circumstances but our team spirit proved invaluable at times, especially in the last 20mins when we prevented the home side from scoring and managed a consolation try of our own 10mins from time. All in all a disappointing day, but the signs of improvement were there for the future.
