With a gale force wind blowing from end to end, straight down the slope, conditions prevented normal rugby from being played. However, both teams provided plenty of entertainment for the supporters from start to finish. 18 v 0 up at half time the Dragons turned round knowing that a backs to the wall defensive effort was the only way we would come out with the points. Our seemingly total lack of discipline again proved costly as an 18/4 justifiable penalty count against us was too big an obstacle to overcome. This coupled to our total of 13 knock ons during the game all but handed the game to our opponents. Starved of possession and continuously on the back foot, the second half predictably saw 'Bank surpass our points total and with ten mins left they led 24 v 18. At this point the Dragons dug deep and managed to claw their way back into the reckoning and finally brought the scores level with a Steve Precious try with the seconds running out. With everyone looking at the clock and shouting instructions to "stuff it up your jumper" we came up with yet another knock on from the kick off. This enabled the visitors to attack our line yet again, and again our poor discipline reared its ugly head as we conceded a needless penalty right under our own posts. With seconds to go a drop goal from 'Bank merely rubbed salt into the wounds and we were left wondering what might have been. With last weeks penalty count of 16/8 against, we have now conceded 34 penalties in just two fixtures. If this doesn't change it's going to be one long hard season indeed !!!!
